TAKE ACTION AND BE A LIFELINE
The Crisis
The government of Burma oppresses their people. The military junta...
- fields 500,000 combat troops, and yet has 0 external enemies.
- spends less than $2 a year, per person, on health care.
- boasts the highest number of child soldiers of any country on the planet - 70,000 kids - according to estimates by Human Rights Watch.
- has displaced more than 1.5 million citizens, many whom will spend tonight hiding in the jungle, terrified of being hunted down.
The Organization
For more than 14 years, Partners Relief & Development has actively engaged Burma's displaced people and refugees.
- We provide emergency food, shelter and medicine to families hiding in the jungle.
- We provide holistic care for 1,500 children in refugee camps and migrant communities in Thailand.
- We facilitate sustainable development projects, such as building fish ponds and pig farms.
- We facilitate comprehensive childcare, medical and leadership training.
- We provide health care and health facilities to thousands of people displaced by war.
Be the Diffference
We need your help. Will you be a LifeLine and help us make a tangible, real-life difference in the lives of tens of thousands of people who are vulnerable, hurting and in need?
When you choose to be a LifeLine, you help us make an impact in the lives of people like...
- Arthur and Clasper, who though they have no guarantee of their future, daily show compassion and care for 105 orphans in Mae La refugee camp.
- 11 year-old Naw Eh Ywa Paw who, after watching her father and grandmother savagely murdered, was also shot by the junta. She survived, and has been on the run in the jungle ever since.
- the brave young men who enter active conflict zones to hand deliver salaries to 900 teachers so they can continue educating the 65,000 students under their care.
- the 1.5 million people from over 3,200 villages that have been burned to the ground by the Burma military junta - all because the military wants to exploit the resources of the land.
- the relief teams who hand-deliver food, medicine, hope and compassion to desperate people.
We believe it's not enough to talk about making a difference. Nor is it enough to simply raise awareness. Our faith demands we love by concretely engaging.
